The 2019 Lincoln MKC
The 2019 Lincoln MKC
In Canada, the small SUV is second only to the truck. That’s both a blessing and a curse. There is plenty of market to capture with any one SUV, but the competition is much stiffer. It’s easier to make a standout sports sedan, for example. However, the Lincoln MKC has emerged as one of the most popular small luxury SUVs. That’s thanks in large part to the fact that Lincoln offers a comprehensive package of luxury features standard with each MKC.
Most notable among the changes for the 2019 Lincoln MKC is the revised, single-piece grille. The design first appeared on the Lincoln Continental concept a few years ago and has since been making its way onto the rest of the Lincoln lineup. And that’s a good thing. The new generation of MKC is more stylish than ever.
Lincoln also made some subtle adjustments to the rear, with some smart chrome trim slashing across the beltline and an array LED lights. They last longer, they consume less power, and they produce a bright, white light. It’s a wonder automakers aren’t using them exclusively already.
Under the hood of the 2019 Lincoln MKC, you still get a choice of two turbocharged, four-cylinder engines. The first is the 2.0L with 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. The second is the twin-turbocharged 2.3L with 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque.
With either one, you get confident performance for the city or the highway.
It’s not even a stretch to call the new MKC nimble. Lincoln has imparted it with a low center of gravity and good balance. Although, I’ll be the first to admit the MKC’s demographic isn’t one likely to be throwing it hard through corners. So, maybe it’s safer to say that the MKC is smooth and refined – the type of performance we’ve come to expect from Lincoln over the past few years. With the available Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive, the MKC is unerringly sure-footed.
A High Standard of Intelligence
The 2019 Lincoln MKC will add Active Park Assist to it’s wealth of technologically sophisticated features. It can automatically take you in and out of parallel parking spaces with a few button presses. When combined with the existing suite of autonomous safety technology, the MKC really begins to resemble the future of driving. Other available smart safety technology includes:
- Blind-Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert
- Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection
- Collision Warning with Brake Support
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Keeping System
Consistent with Lincoln’s overarching strategy, comfort remains the greatest priority of the 2019 Lincoln MKC is perhaps comfort. Lincoln continues to use leather from the Bridge of Weir in Scotland which is simply one of the finest seating materials in automobiles today. And buyers of the 2019 Lincoln MKC can look forward to building upon the high level of comfort it provides with a wealth of standard features like And, with Active Noise Control, The latter feature lets you shut out the noise of the road and the engine to enjoy quiet or the sophisticated Revel audio system.
The 2019 Lincoln MKC will be available in the summer of 2018.
